New Bridging Program from BUas and JADS accelerate transition to academic Master’s in Data Science

Posted on

Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) and the Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS) have signed a partnership agreement to develop an integrated bridging program. This unique pathway offers high-achieving students from the BUas Applied Data Science & Artificial Intelligence bachelor’s program the opportunity to take courses at JADS during their undergraduate studies, preparing them for the master’s program in Data Science in Business and Entrepreneurship.

The integrated bridging program is designed to strengthen the transition from a university of applied sciences (HBO) to a research university (WO) for talented students. In their fourth year, selected BUas students will follow a 30 ECTS pre-master’s program at JADS, which is integrated into their curriculum as a minor. Upon successful completion of both the bachelor’s degree and the bridging program, students will gain direct admission to the corresponding master’s program at JADS.

“This collaboration highlights our ambition to offer excellent students the best possible opportunities to further develop their talents within the field of data science,” says Frank Peters, Program Manager of Applied Data Science & AI at BUas.

Jos van Hillegersberg, Academic Director at JADS, adds: “This program bridges the gap between universities of applied sciences and research universities. It aligns perfectly with our mission to encourage and educate data science talent at all levels to meet the challenges of the future.”

The first students will begin the bridging program in September 2025. Selection is based on GPA and motivation.
