DSBE receives an overall high score on the NSE and excels in atmosphere, guidance and linking science to practice

The results of the 2025 National Student Survey (NSE) with very satisfying ratings are in. The master’s program Data Science in Business and Entrepreneurship (DSBE) received a strong 4.05 out of 5 for overall student satisfaction. Students gave particularly high ratings for the program’s connection to professional practice, the quality of guidance and support, and the positive and engaging atmosphere and are consistent with and even outperforming the NSE results form earlier years.  

Consistently high scores 

Students rated their program on various aspects, such as course content, guidance, practical relevance, and interaction with lecturers. DSBE scored above the national average in nearly all categories compared to similar data science programs in the Netherlands. 

Some highlights include: 

  • Connection to professional practice: 4.23 (national average: 3.44) 
  • Guidance and counseling: 4.25 
  • Engagement and contact: 4.17 
  • Content and organization of teaching: 3.97 
  • Examination and assessment: 3.83 
  • Overall atmosphere: 4.17 (national average: 3.91) 

These results suggest that students find the program not only well-structured and relevant, but also supportive, engaging, and closely connected to real-world practice. 

What sets the Master DSBE apart? 

At JADS, students don’t just learn about data and models, they also study how to apply it in practice. The program combines academic depth with real-world relevance. Students work on practical challenges from industry and society, in a setting where entrepreneurship, business and technology go hand in hand. 

In perspective 

The average overall satisfaction score across data science master’s programs in the Netherlands this year is 3.83. DSBE consistently scores above that on most aspects, and especially in areas like guidance, applicability, and student engagement. Compared to other programs it is especially to connection to professional practice that stands out (4.23 against an average of 3.4 for other programs). 

A track record of strong results 

These strong results are not new. The Master Data Science in Business and Entrepreneurship has consistently received high ratings in previous years as well. For example, in 2024 the program also stood out in the NSE, particularly for its strong connection to professional practice and student engagement.
