From thought to action: JADS signs Cooperation Agreement on food, data and entrepreneurial support

Posted on

On July 2, 2025, a significant milestone was reached at JADS in Den Bosch: the signing of four regional cooperation plans aimed at making the economy in and around ‘s-Hertogenbosch future-proof. Governments, businesses, and educational institutions are joining forces. JADS signed on, focusing clearly on two of the four lines: healthier food (line 3) and data-driven innovation in SMEs (line 4).

The four lines of action are:

  1. Smart(er) use of raw materials within a circular economy.
  2. Clear routes for entrepreneurial assistance and support.
  3. Healthier food, driven by data and insights.
  4. Using data for innovation within SMEs – creating a favorable climate for start-ups and scale-ups working on healthy and sustainable food solutions.

Joost Kok (Vice Dean TU/e) signed the declarations of intent for lines 3 and 4 on behalf of JADS. There are photos of the signing moment where Joost, together with other partners, puts his signature. Colleagues Stefanie Somers-van Mook (partnerships) and Jonie Oostveen (JADS Playground) were also present. They are featured as involved representatives of JADS and its role in the ecosystem.

Within line 3, JADS contributes to data-driven innovations that enable healthier food choices. Line 4 focuses on stimulating startups and scale-ups working on sustainable food solutions. In both plans, JADS connects practice, research, and entrepreneurship.

The signed plans are the result of joint project canvas sessions with concrete goals: first results in 2026, with a joint long-term vision up to 2035.
